Licor Legui - The Argentinian herbal liqueur with tradition and character

Licor Legui is a popular liqueur from Argentina, known for its unique flavour and deep cultural roots in the region. The name 'Legui' goes back to the famous Argentinian jockey Irineo Leguisamo, a true legend of horse racing in South America.

The liqueur was developed in the 1920s and quickly became a popular drink throughout Argentina - especially in the rural regions, where it was considered a faithful companion by gauchos and riders. Legui was often drunk after a long day's work or at celebrations and is still a symbol of Argentinian conviviality and pride today.

Legui is characterised by its dark, amber colour and is made from a combination of sugar cane alcohol, aromatic herbs and spices. The exact recipe is a well-kept secret, but the main flavours are notes of aniseed, cinnamon, cloves, orange peel and vanilla. Its flavour is sweet, spicy and slightly bitter - ideal for drinking on its own, on ice or as an ingredient in cocktails. In some regions, it is even mixed with cola - a favourite drink among young adults.

The delicious liqueur has cult status in Argentina and is often associated with traditional festivals and social gatherings.

Legui is part of the Argentinian identity.
