Panela, also known as whole cane sugar, is a natural alternative to conventional white sugar.
It is obtained by boiling down sugarcane juice and is not refined. As a result, valuable nutrients are preserved.
Whole cane sugar contains vitamins (A, B, C, D, E) as well as important minerals such as calcium, copper, potassium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, and zinc. Its mineral content is up to 50 times higher than that of refined sugar.
